I'd like to hide the Apple options bar with these shortcuts and just use the Padkeys option bar.
Of main interest in the Mail app are: insert photo and insert sketch.
These could be part of a submenu to not block too much space.3 votes
The most common punctuation characters missing in the main alpha iPhone keyboard are the colon, semi colon, single quote and double quotes. The O, P, K, and L keys are already a pale grey. Why not add a opt where they have the colon, semi colon, single quote and double quotes as shift characters on these keys - it would mean there was less times you would need to go to the option keyboard.1 vote
We’ve now (version 4.4.1) made all of these common characters accessible after pressing opt, no additional shift is needed. Is this alternative still needed? If so, how would the uppercase versions of these letters be obtained? And is this about getting to the keys (which would be same number of taps either way), or labeling them in some way so the character “behind them on opt” is visible?
I really like your iPhone keyboard but suggest that you look to reduce the height to the top of the QWERTY row to be the same as the standard iPhone keyboard (or even a little smaller). Right now the main Keys are higher and it means your hey board takes a more vertical space than it needs to, affecting usability
Taken a bit further, it would be lovely to have a "slim keyboar" option to reduce the total height to match the standard keyboard.2 votes
In the next version we will be enabling the “short mode” option when in portrait orientation. (It’s already enabled in landscape mode.) This will allow the keyboard to be actually shorter than the stock one, especially when the shorter suggestions bar is taken into account.
Please vote for this if you’d be interested in it on iPhone. If we did it, it would not be optional, but maybe phone model / orientation dependent. On iPhone 5 and 6 form factors (includes X, XS) there is not a lot of room in portrait mode, particularly now with emoji completions.

Would it be possible to implement barcode/QR code scanner so the QR code is translated and pasted in the text field?5 votes
Create shortcut to insert date/time into text or even better make PadKeys enable TextExpander app snipets. Thanks.2 votes
I like your Keyboard very much. It's close to perfect, even for me as a windows-pc user.
But please, I would appreciate more options such as
- on/off for keystroke popups (sorry, I hate them)2 votes
Does any other keyboard make these an option? If there is something not working well about them in PadKeys, please try to describe it, and we will work on it.

Could you please add a setting where the keyboard (only the top row) becomes taller than it already is in "regular" mode? You could call this new setting "tall" mode.
I've attached mockups for both landscape and portrait.
Note: "Tall" mode in landscape actually looks like a full-sized keyboard, and only takes up a few extra pixels.
P.S. If you combine this with my comments in the suggestion entitled "Arrow Keys: ALL of them! ▲▼◄ ► ↑ ↓ ← →", you would get the Ultimate iPad keyboard!
e.g. look at the image: "5_iPad_landscape_tall_w_updown_keys.png"6 votes
Thank you so much for all the effort you've put into your keyboard.

Ideally, it would be for the iPhone XS Max, and iPhone Plus models. Note that only the letter keys are 24px taller than in regular mode (on an iPhone XS Max display).
Note: I'd be willing to pay $200 to get this implemented.18 votes
When using PadKeys on an iPad, it would be great, if there was a couple of options in 'preferences' to set the smaller size to text for the keys. Also, it would be great, if in addition to 'Long-press' access to 'shifted' symbols, the access was available by hold-swipe down, similar to the system iOS keyboard. This would make for a faster workflow. Thanks.1 vote
We already offer swipe UP for access to shifted variant on the symbol keys. Are you saying you would like this on letters as well, or that you’d prefer down to up?
As far as keycap font, we’ll offer a “small-label” theme if enough users are interested, just like the current “bold” theme provides a way to have bold keycaps.

The backspace key is not wde enough as has not been wide enough for quite some time, now.
I am always accidentally hitting the closet bracket key all the time.
Move the bracket/braces keys to some other location and make the backspace key wider1 vote
In the latest release (4.2.2) we increased sensitivity at the edge of the keyboard, so it should be possible to tap more confidently away from the brackets and have the presses register. Hopefully this will reduce the chances of accidentally hitting the brackets.
GBoard (I think) recently released a feature where a key that produces a different character when shifted lets you access that alternate character by dragging down on the key. Now, this tends to conflict with your keyboard’s gesture-based typing (where you trace out words); but I think something reasonably close could be implemented by requiring the typist to hold the key as long as they have to in order to raise a popup menu; _then_, in order to access the shifted characer, they swipe down from there.1 vote
Put predictive words working out left and right from the center rather than all the way to the left. One's eyes will naturally look to the center more readily when typing.1 vote
Love the keyboard features, but what makes it hard for me to use is the inaccurate swipe function. I end up trying multiple times and after a while I have to give up and type instead.
I would love to use this keyboard for the complete keyboard it has, but the inaccurate swipe feature makes me go back to free keyboards instead.15 votes
Word swipe in PadKeys is good enough for many users and certainly better than keyboards such as the system default that don’t have it at all. It also needs to be understood it will always seem worse than other keyboards on the same device simply because the keys are smaller.
It IS relatively sensitive to the first and last keys touched, so if you hit these accurately, the results will be better.
We continue to work on improving word swipe incrementally. Please vote for this issue if it is important to you, so we can prioritize accordingly.
I need at least 3 languages simultaneously. Can't use your app until this function is implemented!1 vote
Use the OPTION key for access to apostrophes, quotation and exclamation marks, parentheses, regular as well as m and n dashes, dollar signs and a DELETE key, along with CHANGE CASE keys...ALL being the characters most frequently used moment-by-moment for texting messages and emails.
There comes a point where too many features... "cooks in the kitchen," so to speak—or characters, in this case—ruin the day-to-day practicality of the "soup" in your app.

In version 4.4 we’ve made some adjustments to the English iPhone layout. Please let us know your feedback, thanks.
