The backspace key is not wde enough as has not been wide enough for quite some time, now.
I am always accidentally hitting the closet bracket key all the time.
Move the bracket/braces keys to some other location and make the backspace key wider1 vote
I just downloaded this yesterday, and I already have 'walkwd' as a permanent word in my dictionary. It would be great to be able to remove that word instead of having it show up each time I need to walk somewhere. Please add the ability to remove words from the autocorrect dictionary.3 votes
GBoard (I think) recently released a feature where a key that produces a different character when shifted lets you access that alternate character by dragging down on the key. Now, this tends to conflict with your keyboard’s gesture-based typing (where you trace out words); but I think something reasonably close could be implemented by requiring the typist to hold the key as long as they have to in order to raise a popup menu; _then_, in order to access the shifted characer, they swipe down from there.1 vote
Put predictive words working out left and right from the center rather than all the way to the left. One's eyes will naturally look to the center more readily when typing.1 vote
Please make the number row the same height as the letter rows. When it is shorter, it is super easy to get letters inputed instead of the proper number selected.
[Edit] I only use iPad Pro 10.5". Probably 75/25 portrait to landscape mode.1 vote
We will see if we can boost the number row height a bit in iPad portrait mode. We’ve been asked repeatedly to reduce the overall keyboard height in iPad landscape mode so we probably will not make any changes there.
If anyone has any further thoughts, either for iPad or iPhone, please post here, thanks!
Love the idea of this, but PadKeys needs definite improvements. The number row is so short I'm constantly hitting letters below. Also, the spell check row is too short on height as well. So I look up and my sentence is jibberish. It would also help to have the most common suggestions in the center working outwards instead of to the left where it's harder to see and further away from where your eye naturally goes. Lastly, the delete button is funky. It needs to be a square not some "tetras shape" where I'm constantly getting a bracket symbol mixed in. This could be a wonderful app with some tweaks!

Thanks for the feedback.
Please, when submitting a layout request, mention whether you are primarily using iPhone or iPad, and portrait or landscape mode. These are all different layouts! Thanks.
As far as delete key on the iPad US English layout, if you are hitting the brackets, just use the “square” portion above there and ignore the lower limb :-) Seriously, we used the inverted L to make the largest and most edge-occupying key we could given other layout constraints. Making it smaller wouldn’t make it easier.
Love the keyboard features, but what makes it hard for me to use is the inaccurate swipe function. I end up trying multiple times and after a while I have to give up and type instead.
I would love to use this keyboard for the complete keyboard it has, but the inaccurate swipe feature makes me go back to free keyboards instead.7 votes
Word swipe in PadKeys is good enough for many users and certainly better than keyboards such as the system default that don’t have it at all. It also needs to be understood it will always seem worse than other keyboards on the same device simply because the keys are smaller.
We continue to work on improving word swipe incrementally. The next release will bring significant improvement in certain respects, and we will not stop there.
Please vote for this issue if it is important to you, so we can prioritize accordingly.
Currently with caps lock enabled, swiping out a word will result in only the first letter being capitalized.2 votes
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’ll fix it in the next release.
I need at least 3 languages simultaneously. Can't use your app until this function is implemented!1 vote
Need to add the microphone for dictation.7 votes
Use the OPTION key for access to apostrophes, quotation and exclamation marks, parentheses, regular as well as m and n dashes, dollar signs and a DELETE key, along with CHANGE CASE keys...ALL being the characters most frequently used moment-by-moment for texting messages and emails.
There comes a point where too many features... "cooks in the kitchen," so to speak—or characters, in this case—ruin the day-to-day practicality of the "soup" in your app.

The suggestion is to replace some of the Greek, mathematical, and other symbols on the Opted layout on iPhone with standard punctuation characters, so, for example, you don’t need Opt and Shift to get the secondary symbols under K and L in the US English layout.
Please vote for this issue if you would like this, thanks!
Considering an iPhone XS Max is much larger, could you please create the keyboard’s keys to be bigger (even if it takes up more of the screen). Just like how the iPad Mini, or iPad Air’s keyboard looks like in landscape mode. That way we’d be able to touch type.
Notice the keyboard in the attachment. (Please ignore the fact that it is a screenshot from an iPad Air).7 votes
I’ve added screenshots from the simulator of how PadKeys looks on the XS Max in regular and short modes. Are you saying you would want a setting where the keyboard becomes taller than it already is in “regular” mode? (Note: we don’t have any control over the width.)
On the iPhone, move the backspace key to the first or second row like it is on the system keyboard.1 vote
Hi, putting this idea on the forum so we can find out how many people prefer the backspace in one place or the other.
Currently it is in the top row. GOOD because it’s like other (non-phone) keyboards and allows the punctuation keys to be in their normal places. BAD because it makes backspace harder to hit and the keyboard is harder to get used to from other phone keyboards.
We could move it to the bottom row. GOOD because it’s like phone keyboards that people are used to, and allows the backspace to be easily hit. BAD because it’s different from standard keyboards and would move the punctuation keys to a strange, hard-to-hit place.
If opinions are split we might consider making it an option, but options make the keyboard more complicated to configure (and many users never open Settings) and to maintain.
The swype function is WAY too slow. Coming from android too ios, it can't seem too keep up during regular speed swiping. Disappointing.4 votes
Could you be specific as to WHAT is slow, and maybe give an example word and the language where you see this? Also what type of device do you use?
In our testing on the slowest devices the animation follows the finger basically immediately and the suggestions appear instantaneously after the swipe is completed. There does not seem to be anything we would need to speed up. Note that we do NOT attempt to show suggestions DURING the swipe.
One-handed mode is very important for iphone plus users. Please add.2 votes
1) Four CASE CHANGE options would be HUGE!!!
2) Lock for numerical alt characters...as in making quotes and 3 successive exclamations—" !!! "—easy breezy.2 votes
You can hold down shift to type " !!! " or similar.
What do you mean by “case change options”?
Often hit the globe by mistake and fumble to get back to PadKeys, can you lock it so a long press is needed to change?6 votes
We can consider this, however:
- It slows down the use case where you often switch to an emoji keyboard, or to Apple’s (to get dictation button).
- It operates differently from the Globe on the Apple keyboard, so many users may have a hard time finding it, and/or Apple itself might reject the app.
I wonder if there would be any alternatives, maybe moving the Globe, or delaying the tap effect just enough on that key to avoid the accidental triggering during typing?
I always need both Danish and English - often mixed in the same letter, so hope that can be made, just like in swiftkey, with a choice of which keyboard yet with two dictionaries active1 vote
Add language and possibly change the keyboard font to a font you can install, so it matches your language and your language font.2 votes
- Don't see your idea?
